“Don’t listen to him! We’ve been married 20 years.”
|
Spring 2011So I guess if you are reading this, you are wondering where in the world have I been. I mean the last time my web page was updated was the first of April 2010. So what I have been up to? Was I kidnapped and held for ransom only to find out to the dismay of my abductors that no one was willing to pay to get me back? No that didn’t happen. Or did I go caving and get in a lost of maze of twists and turns and I have just recently finally found my way out after a year of mapping my way through the cave? No that didn’t happen either. Or maybe I charted a yacht and was making an across-the-globe trip attempt and I got lost at sea and have been living on an uncharted island in the Pacific Ocean? Nope, not even close. A Few Months Ago
I saw this advertisement on the show Atlanta and Company on channel 11 for the restaurant/bar http://www.firesalttavern.com/ I was off that day and Nancy was working in her home office. After checking out the website and getting the coupon deal they offered, I walked upstairs and asked Nancy if she would like to have a date night this weekend. After telling her about the restaurant and the coupon deal the website offered, date night was set. Greeted by a hostess and escorted to our table, we decided to sit side by side instead of across from each other. After ordering our drinks, Nancy and I held hands and kissed at the table just as if we were teenagers on a second or third date. This in itself is not odd to us as we are use to displaying affection in public. When the waitress came back to the table, I guess she saw our wedding rings and asked, “How long have y’all been married?” I looked up at the waitress and said, “Oh were married, but not to each other.” The eyes of our waitress opened wider and wider with each passing second until Nancy broke in on my joke and said, “Don’t listen to him! We’ve been married 20 years.” That brought a smile and laugh from our waitress. The rest of the evening was great. We had a nice dinner and listened to some live jazz.
